Cheonan to host K-Culture Expo and multicultural youth programs
Cheonan City is set to host the ‘2026 Cheonan K-Culture Expo’ from next month's 2nd to the 6th at the Independence Hall of Korea. The event aims to transform Cheonan into a representative K-culture tourism hub by focusing on three core industrial sectors: K-Food, K-Webtoon, and K-POP. The expo will feature export consultations in partnership with KOTRA, AI-driven immersive storytelling for K-POP, and special exhibitions for webtoons. To support the local economy, the city is implementing consumer coupon programs and collaborating with local businesses.
In a related cultural initiative, the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation successfully concluded the ‘Global Woori Camp K-Culture’ in Cheonan. The program hosted approximately 400 multicultural youths for immersive experiences in Korean traditional arts and modern K-culture. Participants engaged in K-pop dance training, traditional martial arts such as Taekkyeon and Gukgung, and pottery making to foster cultural understanding and social integration.
