Cheongju Apartment Renovation Finds Propofol, Fentanyl Cache

Police in Cheongju, South Korea, began an investigation after a renovation crew opened a bathroom ceiling in an apartment unit and uncovered a large stash of controlled medicines. The haul included seven boxes (35 units) of propofol and five boxes (125 units) of fentanyl‑type medication.

The demolition company promptly reported the find to the local Heungdeok police station. Investigators are now probing how the former tenant came to possess the narcotics, why they were stored in the ceiling, and the source of the drugs. The previous resident said, "It was medication we kept from the hospital; they should have told us. It’s old and I don’t remember exactly," expressing dissatisfaction with the police report.

Authorities are examining the drugs’ serial numbers and tracing any illegal distribution channels linked to the case.
