Cheongju elementary student assaults multiple teachers

An elementary school student in Cheongju, South Korea, physically assaulted multiple teachers, including a homeroom teacher, vice principal, and principal. The incident occurred in a classroom when a fifth-grade student became violent during a diagnostic evaluation, reportedly due to dissatisfaction with the condition of the test papers.

According to reports, the student attacked the teacher by kicking, punching, and pulling their hair. The student also directed verbal abuse and physical aggression toward staff members attempting to intervene. The victimized teacher required medical treatment following the incident.

It was noted that the student has a history of emotional instability and has been prescribed medication for bipolar disorder, though the student's parents had reportedly discontinued the medication recently. Educational authorities have implemented emergency measures, including the immediate separation of the student and a 20-day suspension. Authorities are also providing counseling to support the psychological stability of the affected students and the recovery of the victimized staff.
