Cheongsong County to debut new apple-based food menus at upcoming festival

Cheongsong County is expanding the use of its local specialty, Cheongsong apples, by developing seven new menu items that incorporate the fruit into meals and snacks rather than just desserts. These new offerings will be debuted at the 20th Cheongsong Apple Festival, scheduled for November 4–8.

In collaboration with four local dining businesses, the county has developed a variety of dishes, including apple cup rice, apple hot dogs, apple sandwiches, apple tteokbokki, apple pork cutlet, apple Chungmu gimbap, and apple boiled pork. The initiative aims to diversify apple consumption, boost the local food service industry, and create new sales channels for regional agricultural products.

The developed menus will be sold at the ‘Cheongsong Apple Table’ within the festival's apple promotion hall. The county intends for these businesses to continue selling the products after the festival to ensure long-term economic benefits and expanded market reach for Cheongsong apples.
