Cheongyang County offers low-cost housing in renovated empty homes

Cheongyang County is recruiting residents for its ‘2026 Empty House Connection Housing’ project, an initiative designed to reduce housing costs for young people, newlyweds, and those returning to farming. The county is remodeling five abandoned rural houses to provide stable housing and encourage regional settlement.

Selected residents will benefit from a policy with no security deposit and a monthly rent of only 10,000 KRW. After paying a single annual rent of 120,000 KRW, tenants can reside in the homes for up to three years through contract renewals.

Eligibility is open to non-homeowning heads of households aged 18 to 45, newlyweds married within the last seven years, and individuals who have recently moved to Cheongyang County from urban areas or are planning to relocate for farming. Applications are being accepted from the 14th to the 27th.
