Cheonjiyeon Falls tourist dies after falling into water while taking photos

A tourist in their 50s died after falling approximately 2 meters into the water at Cheonjiyeon Falls in Seogwipo, Jeju Island. The incident occurred on the evening of September 26 at around 8:32 PM while the individual was attempting to take photographs.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and rescued the individual within 10 minutes, but the person was already in cardiac arrest. Despite receiving CPR and being transported to a nearby hospital, the tourist passed away. Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on witness statements and the scene conditions.

Cheonjiyeon Falls is a major tourist attraction that allows visitors until 10:00 PM.
