Cheras lorry crash suspected to be caused by driver falling asleep

A 37-year-old lorry driver is suspected to have fallen asleep at the wheel before crashing into the front of an eatery in Jalan Batu 12, Cheras. While social media videos initially claimed the driver was intoxicated, Kajang District Police Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof stated that preliminary investigations suggest the driver lost control due to fatigue.

The collision caused damage to the establishment's business umbrellas and kitchen equipment, though no injuries or fatalities were reported. The case is being investigated under Regulation 10 LN 166/59.
