Chery announces 2027 E5 electric SUV refresh

Chery has announced an update for the 2027 model year (MY27) of its E5 electric SUV. The refresh includes exterior styling changes, such as redesigned front and rear bumpers and an active front grille shutter, which the automaker refers to as ‘Robo Shark design’. The update also introduces an electrically operated charging-port cover.

Interior enhancements feature a larger 15.6-inch central infotainment touchscreen, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and upgraded seating. The driver’s seat will now include four-way lumbar adjustment, ventilation, and massage functions, while the front passenger seat gains six-way power adjustment and ventilation.

Mechanical specifications remain unchanged, with the front-mounted electric motor producing 155kW and 288Nm, maintaining a claimed WLTP range of 430km. While the updated model is already available in markets like Thailand and Brazil, Chery has not yet confirmed pricing or availability for the Australian market.
