Effective August 2024, Skandi Motors will serve as the official representative of Chinese automobile brand Chery in the Latvian city of Liepaja, expanding the brand’s dealer network beyond Riga where it is represented by WESS Select. The new outlet will sell current Chery models—including the Tiggo 4, 7, 8 and 9—offer test‑drive bookings, financing advice and authorized after‑sales service for customers in the Kurzeme region.
Skandi Motors, a long‑standing Latvian car‑sales and service firm that also represents Hyundai, Nissan, Škoda, Mitsubishi and Ford in the country, highlighted the partnership as a strategic step to meet growing demand for modern, technologically advanced and affordable vehicles. WESS Mobility CEO Martins Blūms said the brand sees “large growth potential in Latvia” and expects the new representation to strengthen Chery’s position in Kurzeme. The company reported a 2023 turnover of €45.35 million, a 6.8 % increase over the previous year, and a modest profit of €90,258.
Chery, one of the world’s fastest‑growing car manufacturers and the largest exporter of light vehicles from China, operates in more than 110 countries and entered the Baltic markets earlier this year, establishing a dealer network across Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
