Chery expands Himla pickup presence in Chile and Brazil

Chery is expanding the presence of its Himla pickup truck in South America, with updates in Chile and potential entry into the Brazilian market.

In Chile, Chery has relaunched the Himla with three distinct versions: Force, Adventure, and Everest. These models feature a recalibrated suspension designed to be 30% smoother to improve comfort on irregular roads. The Force version is aimed at commercial use with a 1,000 kg load capacity, while the Everest serves as the top-tier off-road model equipped with all-terrain tires and specialized equipment.

Simultaneously, Chery is moving toward a possible launch in Brazil. The industrial design for the Himla has been registered with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) by Chery Commercial Vehicle. The vehicle, which competes with models like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux, is expected to offer various powertrain options, including diesel and electric configurations. The electric versions could provide up to 402 cv with dual motors and all-wheel drive.
