Chery repositions Jetour as a premium off-road SUV brand
Chery Automobile is implementing a strategic shift for its Jetour brand, repositioning it from a mass-market SUV manufacturer to a premium off-road vehicle specialist. This move is part of Chery’s ‘Globalization 3.0’ plan, which aims to integrate domestic and international operations while expanding its global footprint.
Under the leadership of Li Xueyong, Executive Vice President of Chery Automobile, Jetour will focus on high-end off-road capabilities and advanced technology. This distinguishes it from Chery’s other premium brand, Exeed, which will continue to focus on more conventional luxury segments. Jetour currently operates in 67 countries with over 2,000 sales and service outlets.
A key model representing this new direction is the Jetour G700, a large ladder-frame plug-in hybrid SUV. The G700 features a body length of 5,198 mm and produces approximately 891-892 hp. It is equipped with a 59.45 kWh battery, offering an electric-only range of up to 211 km based on WLTP standards. The model is already being marketed in regions such as Chile.
