Chesarie Episcopul Theological Seminary celebrates 190 years

The Chesarie Episcopul Orthodox Theological Seminary in Buzău is celebrating its 190th anniversary. To mark the occasion and the start of the 2026–2027 school year, festive ceremonies were held on September 15.

The celebrations began with a Te Deum service at the Voievodal Cathedral, attended by Archbishop Ciprian, seminary director Marius Cristian Dima, students, parents, and representatives from the Ministry of Education and Research and local government.

During the festivities, the seminary was honored with the ‘Spiru Haret’ Anniversary Plaque and Diploma from the Ministry of Education and Research. This distinction recognizes institutions with significant historical tradition and outstanding educational results. The award follows an evaluation of the school's historical dimension, contemporary performance, student and teacher results, and its contribution to forming representative personalities for the Church and society.
