Chess tournaments held in Lecce and Leggiuno

Regional chess tournaments are being held in Italy, featuring both FIDE ELO-rated competitions and local club events.

In Lecce, Lecce Scacchi ASD is organizing the II° Torneo Semilampo ‘C’ELO d’autunno’. Scheduled for September 27, 2026, the event is valid for FIDE Rapid ELO and will take place at the San Sabino parish hall. The tournament features seven rounds with a 12+5 time control and is limited to 80 participants.

In Leggiuno, the Società Scacchistica Esteban Canal recently held a successful ‘Per Bacco’ rapid tournament in Cellina. The event drew 36 participants, including players from Switzerland and Omegna. Claudio Calcaterra took first place, followed by Massimiliano Calcaterra in second and Antonio Pesavento in third.
