Cheste municipal pool renovation approved with €1.5 million funding

The Cheste City Council announced a full overhaul of its municipal swimming pool, allocating €1.5 million for the project. Funding comes from Spain's Ministry of Territorial Policy under the special aid program for municipalities affected by the recent DANA storm. Mayor José Morell said the works, already awarded, will start in September after the swimming season ends and are expected to last nine to ten months, aiming for completion before the next summer season. The renovation will address structural defects, replace the filtration system, expand the grass area beside the main pool, and modernise the locker rooms. Morell acknowledged possible delays due to weather or logistics but expressed confidence that the pool will be ready for the 2027 swimming season.
