Chester County police investigate recurring nighttime drone sightings
Residents in the Wallace Township area of Chester County, specifically within the Howson development, have reported recurring sightings of a large drone hovering over homes at night. The activity typically occurs between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
West Brandywine police have been investigating the matter for several weeks and have personally witnessed the aircraft. Concerns have been raised regarding the drone's potential use of high-resolution cameras with extreme zoom capabilities to photograph private property or view the interiors of homes through windows and skylights.
The police department has notified the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and is working to identify the operator to determine if any laws have been violated. Authorities have dismissed theories that the drone is being used to search for lost pets.
