Chester Zoo mocked for ‘child predator tour’ ticket error

Chester Zoo, one of the United Kingdom’s largest zoological attractions, has faced widespread social media ridicule following a marketing error on its website. The zoo inadvertently listed tickets for a guided animal experience as a ‘child predator tour’.

The intended attraction was a 90-minute early-morning journey via electric bus, designed to give visitors close encounters with animals such as Sumatran tigers and Komodo dragons. While the zoo offered ‘adult predator tour’ tickets and separate child tickets, the combined wording on the booking page created the unintended and controversial label.

Following the error going viral on platforms such as X and Reddit, the zoo has since updated its website to correct the booking details.
