Chevrolet Camaro seventh-generation delayed to 2029

The seventh-generation Chevrolet Camaro is reportedly facing a production delay, with its debut now expected as a 2029 model year vehicle. This represents a one-year delay from previous projections that suggested a 2028 release.

In a significant departure from its traditional design, the new Camaro is expected to be reinterpreted as a four-door performance sedan rather than a two-door coupe. The vehicle is anticipated to be built on an updated version of General Motors’ Alpha 2 rear-wheel drive architecture, a platform also slated for future Cadillac and Buick sedans.

While Chevrolet has not officially confirmed these details, reports suggest the model will maintain its performance roots through internal combustion engines rather than transitioning to electric power. Potential powertrain options may include a manual transmission and high-performance versions utilizing GM's new 6.7-litre naturally aspirated LS6 V8 engine.
