Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport experiences software failure shortly after purchase

A new Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport experienced a total electrical failure just minutes after being purchased from a dealership. The vehicle lost all power and refused to restart, leaving the owner, identified as Moe from the Tech Moe channel, stranded on a highway.

Police officers intervened to assist the owner, who had difficulty exiting the vehicle. After contacting OnStar to ensure the car was not flagged as stolen, the vehicle eventually restarted on its own and was driven home.

Technical analysis suggested the issue was caused by a software error within the anti-theft system. The malfunction occurred during a remote start procedure involving a second remote located in the trunk. The system failed to correctly decode the security rolling code, leading the anti-theft algorithm to interpret the event as a tampering attempt and trigger internal protection routines. The issue was resolved through a system reset.
