Chevrolet introduces new Sonic compact SUV in Argentina

Chevrolet relaunched the Sonic name in Argentina as a compact SUV. The launch event began in La Punta, San Luis, proceeded along regional roads and concluded at the Agroactiva show in Armstrong, Santa Fe. Two trims – Premier (priced at AR$38,390,900) and RS (AR$39,690,900) – are now on sale, with 0 % financing options for up to 24 months through GPAT Financiera.

The model is equipped with a 1.0‑litre turbocharged three‑cylinder engine delivering 116 hp, a six‑speed automatic gearbox, and a ground clearance suited for mixed city‑and‑route use. Safety features include front‑collision alert, blind‑spot warning, lane‑keeping assist, six airbags and front parking sensors on the RS version. Dealerships such as Maipú Chevrolet in Córdoba offer immediate delivery and promotional financing of up to AR$28 million.

The Sonic’s design draws on Chevrolet’s global styling, featuring full‑LED lighting, a higher driving position, and interior technology for connectivity and comfort, positioning it as an entry‑level SUV aimed at drivers transitioning from hatchbacks or compact sedans.
