Chevrolet launches new Sonic crossover in Argentina
General Motors introduced the Chevrolet Sonic, a compact crossover, to the Argentine market. Produced in Brazil, the model features a 1.0‑liter turbocharged gasoline engine delivering 116 hp and 160 Nm of torque, paired with a six‑speed automatic transmission and front‑wheel drive. Two trims are offered – Premier and RS – with differences in sport‑styled design, parking sensors, and advanced driver‑assist systems such as autonomous emergency braking and lane‑keeping. Prices start at AR$ 38.390.900 for the Premier AT6 and AR$ 39.690.900 for the RS AT6, with a three‑year or 100,000‑km warranty.
AMSAT will host an official presentation of the Sonic on Friday at its Balloffet‑Sarmiento showroom, where prospective buyers can view the vehicle and learn about financing options, including GM‑backed subsidized credit lines and a savings‑plan scheme. Dealer manager Anuar Sat highlighted the model’s digital interior, extensive safety technology, and fuel consumption of roughly 6 L/100 km.
