Chevrolet Sonic equipped with CVT transmission and new Bridgestone Turanza 6 tires

The Chevrolet Sonic model includes a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which uses two variable-diameter pulleys linked by a metal belt to provide seamless gear ratio changes, improving acceleration smoothness and fuel efficiency. The CVT system can simulate multiple gear steps to reduce engine noise during strong acceleration.

In Brazil, the Sonic is fitted as original equipment with Bridgestone's Turanza 6 tires (size 205/50R17 89H). The tires are designed for premium compact cars, offering a balance of comfort, safety, handling and fuel efficiency through Bridgestone's ENLITEN technology, which reduces rolling resistance while maintaining performance on dry and wet surfaces.
