Morgan Stanley beats Q3 estimates on strong equities trading revenue

Morgan Stanley reported third-quarter results that exceeded analyst expectations, driven largely by a 41% surge in equities trading revenue, which reached $5.8 billion. The firm's total revenue rose 12% to $20.34 billion, and earnings per share reached $3.03. Wealth Management also saw record revenue of $9.1 billion. While equities and wealth management performed strongly, fixed income trading revenue declined by 7% due to drops in credit and commodities.

Other financial institutions also released quarterly updates. Home BancShares, the parent company of Centennial Bank, reported a 4.7% increase in third-quarter net income to $129.45 million, though earnings per share fell below consensus estimates. Byline Bancorp is expected to release its third-quarter results on October 22, with analysts projecting earnings of $0.8180 per share.

In the technology and services sector, Nedap reported a 7% increase in total revenue for the third quarter of 2026, with key markets growing by 9%. The company noted that recurring revenue grew by 17% year-to-date, representing 42% of its total revenue.
