Chevron grants staff bonus after record earnings surge

Chevron will award most of its employees a special bonus equal to half of a month's base pay following a record earnings report that was boosted by high oil prices linked to the war in Iran. In an internal email seen by Reuters, CEO Mike Wirth praised staff for meeting cost‑reduction targets, delivering early synergies from the Hess acquisition and operating safely amid geopolitical upheaval in Venezuela and the Middle East.

The bonus announcement came as U.S. President Donald Trump publicly criticized major oil companies and urged lower gasoline prices, posting a demand on Truth Social. Chevron did not immediately comment on the president’s remarks.
