Chevron Nigeria chief Jim Swartz joins NESG board

Jim Swartz, Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria and the Mid-Africa region, has been appointed to the board of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG). The appointment aims to leverage Swartz’s 36 years of experience in upstream operations and executive leadership to support the NESG’s mission of sustainable economic development in Nigeria.

Speaking at the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) Energy and Labour Summit in Abuja, Swartz also emphasized the necessity of a strong regulatory framework for the Nigerian oil and gas sector. He noted that while Nigeria possesses significant oil and gas reserves, a predictable, transparent, and efficient regulatory environment is essential to attract investment, drive innovation, and ensure long-term competitiveness in the global energy market.
