Cheyenne to host Horse Nations Indian Relay Championship in 2026
The Horse Nations Indian Relay Council's ‘Championship of Champions’ is set to move to Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 2026. This marks the first time the event will be held in the state capital.
Indian Relays are a high-speed, high-risk spectator sport rooted in historical tribal practices, such as switching horses during battle or hunts. The sport celebrates heritage and horsemanship across the Western United States and Canada. While Wyoming has hosted various relay races in towns like Casper, the championship is relocating to Cheyenne Frontier Days Park to accommodate the growing popularity and increasing crowds of the event.
