Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar officials consider Gunthewari discount extension
During a general assembly meeting of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation, local representatives called for a two-month extension of the 50 percent discount on Gunthewari regularization fees for open plots.
BJP corporator Raju Vaidya raised the demand, noting that large crowds are gathering at the municipal office to avail of the concession. Mayor Samir Rajurkar responded that the current deadline is set for October 30, and a decision regarding a further extension will only be made after that date.
Other issues raised during the session included a shortage of staff in the Gunthewari department and logistical difficulties for citizens. Corporator Balasaheb Munde highlighted that the current system of accepting fees through only one bank is causing significant crowds and wasting citizens' time, suggesting more banking options be provided. Additionally, Kishore Nagre from the Shiv Sena faction requested more staff, while Afsar Khan of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi urged that the regularization process include residents living on government or reserved lands.
