Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar prepares for Dahi Handi and Ganeshotsav festivals

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is preparing for major religious festivities, including the Dahi Handi festival and the upcoming Ganeshotsav 2026.

For the Dahi Handi celebrations, police have implemented a massive security deployment involving 1,259 police personnel, 500 Home Guards, two SRPF companies, and four RCP teams. Authorities will use drones to monitor crowded areas such as Connaught Place, TV Center, Kranti Chowk, Avishkar Chowk, Bajrang Chowk, and Gajanan Maharaj Temple Chowk. Strict regulations are in place regarding noise pollution, with a ban on DJs and limits on speaker setups to control sound levels.

In preparation for Ganeshotsav, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District Traders Federation has submitted 15 suggestions to the municipal corporation and police. These recommendations include repairing road potholes, cleaning drains via jet machines to prevent waterlogging, ensuring uninterrupted water and electricity supply, and installing mobile toilets in crowded commercial areas like Shahganj and Gulmandi. The federation also suggested reorganizing the city traffic committee and managing street vendors to ensure smooth movement during the festival.
