Chhattisgarh Hockey League launches in Raipur

The inaugural Chhattisgarh Hockey League has officially commenced at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium in Raipur. The event was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, alongside other dignitaries including Union Minister Tokhan Sahu and Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao.

The league aims to professionalize the state's sports culture by providing a platform where emerging local talent can compete alongside national Olympians and veteran players. This initiative follows the Khelo India Tribal Games and is intended to bridge the gap between grassroots participation and high-level professional competition.

Minister Khadse emphasized that the government is working to expand sports beyond cricket, ensuring diverse athletic disciplines receive adequate budget and support to bring sports into every household in alignment with national visions.
