Chhattisgarh launches agricultural and welfare initiatives
In Chhattisgarh, the ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyaan’ (Save the Field Campaign) has been launched in Bemetara district to support farmers. Coordinated by the ICAR-National Institute of Biological Stress Management (NIBSM) and the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), the campaign aims to raise awareness regarding crop protection against pests, diseases, and biological stresses. Scientists are encouraging farmers to adopt crop diversification, scientific crop rotation, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to ensure sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
Separately, the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has implemented various welfare schemes for construction workers and their families. Through the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan’, approximately 47,011 registered workers received a total of 18.96 crore rupees via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). These initiatives include maternity assistance, educational scholarships, and support for tools and bicycles, aimed at improving social security and economic stability for labor families.
