Chhattisgarh launches free bus service for tribal female students

BJP MLA Bhawna Bohra has introduced a free bus service, known as ‘Bus Wali Didi’, for female students in the Kui-Kukdur area of the Kawardha district in Chhattisgarh. The initiative specifically targets college-going girls from the Baiga tribal community to alleviate commuting difficulties in forest villages.

During a ceremony at the Kui-Kukdur helipad ground, Cabinet Minister Tank Ram Verma inaugurated various development and infrastructure projects alongside the launch of the service. Minister Verma noted that the initiative aims to support economically weaker families who face challenges due to distance and travel expenses, helping ensure that female students can continue their regular education through safe and convenient transportation. The broader campaign in the Pandariya assembly constituency aims to operate 10 buses to expand educational opportunities for women in the region.
