Chhattisgarh man uses Chief Justice's photo in ritual to seek bail
In Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, a man was apprehended by villagers while performing a purported tantric ritual at a cremation ground in Deori village. The individual, identified as Rishikesh Kumar, allegedly attempted to use occult practices to secure bail for a relative arrested in a stabbing case.
During the intervention by locals, three accomplices fled the scene, but Kumar was detained and handed over to the police. Authorities recovered ritual items including fish, lemons, vermilion, and photographs of Chhattisgarh High Court Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha, along with two other individuals. One photo belonged to the suspect's relative, while the other was of the stabbing victim.
Police Superintendent Rajnesh Singh stated that the suspect claimed to have been inspired by a video regarding rituals that could influence legal outcomes. The police have warned that such superstitious practices will not influence the legal system and that strict action will be taken against those involved.
