Chhattisgarh officials inaugurate Nava Raipur Open 2026 golf championship

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) President Kapil Dev inaugurated the Nava Raipur Open 2026 at the Fairway Golf & Lake Resort. The tournament is part of a broader state initiative to transform Chhattisgarh into a premier sports destination through infrastructure development and the Mukhyamanti Khel Utkarsh Mission.

Chief Minister Sai emphasized that hosting major professional tournaments like this golf championship aims to boost sports tourism, encourage youth participation, and showcase the state’s cultural heritage and natural landscapes. Kapil Dev noted that such high-level competitions provide motivation for young Indian players to aspire to international stages, including the Asian Games and the Olympics.

PGTI CEO Amandeep Johl expressed confidence in Nava Raipur’s potential to become a leading golfing hub, citing its existing infrastructure and hospitality capabilities.
