Chhattisgarh police aspirants protest over 1,940 vacant posts

Job aspirants in Chhattisgarh have entered their fourth day of protesting outside State Home Minister Vijay Sharma’s residence in Kawardha. The demonstrators are demanding that the government fill 1,940 vacant positions within the District Reserve Police Force (DRPF).

The recruitment drive originally advertised 5,967 posts. Protesters cite RTI documents claiming that only 4,367 posts have been filled through the initial selection and waiting lists. They allege the vacancies exist because a flawed process allowed certain candidates to be selected for multiple districts simultaneously, with some names appearing on up to nine different district lists. The candidates are calling for the release of a second selection list to address these vacancies.
