Chhattisgarh railway project completes key Taroki-Rowghat section

Indian Railways has completed the Taroki-Rowghat section, a 17.5 km stretch of the 95 km Dallirajhara-Rowghat railway project in Chhattisgarh. The section is a single-line electrified broad-gauge route that has successfully passed inspection and speed trials by the Commission of Railway Safety.

The completion is expected to significantly impact the regional economy by improving the transport of iron ore to the Bhilai Steel Plant, thereby strengthening the supply chain for the steel industry. Beyond heavy industry, the new line aims to facilitate the movement of agricultural products and local commercial goods.

Additionally, the project is intended to enhance connectivity for communities in southern Chhattisgarh, providing better access to major urban and industrial centers such as Raipur and Bhilai for employment, education, and healthcare.
