Chhattisgarh student receives ministry grant for engineering studies at NIT Raipur
Annu Supriya, a 19-year-old student from a marginalized community in Chhattisgarh, has secured a scholarship of Rs 1,29,100 to pursue a B.Tech degree at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur.
The financial assistance was provided by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment through its Top-Class Education Scheme. Supriya, who belongs to the OBC/Teli community, comes from a financially disadvantaged background; her mother is a single parent working as a daily wage laborer.
Due to financial constraints, Supriya was unable to enroll in offline coaching for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and had limited prior knowledge regarding engineering entrance processes. A Ministry official noted that her journey
