Chhattisgarh tribal dancers perform at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Members of the ‘Jai Garhiya Baba Adivasi Lok Mandri Nritya Dal’ from Saraitola village in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district performed traditional folk dances at the Rashtrapati Bhavan during the 80th Independence Day ‘At Home’ reception hosted by President Droupadi Murmu.

The troupe, known for its unique ‘Gutta Mandar’ tribal dance style, utilized traditional costumes and local musical instruments to showcase the culture of Chhattisgarh. Performers expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government for providing a national platform to rural artists.

Group members noted that the opportunity allowed them to represent the social issues, traditions, and unity of the tribal community on a prestigious national stage.
