Chi Ma Border Gate to become smart economic hub by 2045

Vietnam has approved a general planning scheme for the Chi Ma Border Gate area in Lang Son province, aiming for development through 2045. The plan, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, designates the 535-hectare area as a key economic growth pole for eastern Lang Son.

The development focuses on transforming Chi Ma into a smart, modern border gate by applying digital transformation to management, control, and customs clearance processes. The goal is to enhance import-export efficiency, attract investment, and create jobs for local residents.

The spatial organization follows a structure of two corridors and three development zones. One corridor will focus on urban services and logistics, including warehouses and distribution centers, while the other will integrate border security with economic development. The plan also aims to establish the area as an international center for trade, services, and tourism.
