Chiang Wan-an campaigns for Jacky Wu in Yilan
Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an traveled to Yilan to campaign for Kuomintang Yilan County Magistrate candidate Jacky Wu. During a rally in Luodong, Chiang referred to himself as the ‘Yilan son-in-law’ due to his wife’s local roots and endorsed Wu, citing his professionalism and commitment to the region.
The campaign event, titled ‘Yi Xian Wan An, North Yilan Co-prosperity,’ included a street sweep through the Luodong Minsheng Market. Chiang’s arrival was delayed by approximately 50 minutes due to heavy weekend traffic through the Xueshan Tunnel, an issue that became a point of political discussion between the opposing camps.
Meanwhile, Democratic Progressive Party candidate Lin Kuo-chang established a labor support group at the Yilan County Council. Lin, who emphasized his background in a working-class family, pledged to protect local workers' rights and continue his history of providing legal assistance to laborers.
