Chianti region promotes cultural heritage and local craftsmanship

Cultural initiatives are highlighting the heritage of the Chianti region through museum incentives and artisanal showcases. In Castellina in Chianti, the Museo Archeologico del Chianti is hosting the exhibition ‘Ritorno nel Chianti,’ featuring 14th and 15th-century paintings that have returned to their original context after 25 years in storage. To encourage tourism, local accommodation providers are offering vouchers that allow guests to access the museum, the Rocca, and temporary exhibitions at a reduced rate of 6.50 euros.

Additionally, San Casciano in Val di Pesa will host ‘La Memoria delle Mani,’ a two-day event on September 12 and 13 dedicated to local craftsmanship. Organized by CNA Chianti, the event features a market of local artisans specializing in silver, ceramics, weaving, and basketry. The event includes live demonstrations of carving and weaving techniques, with proceeds and donations supporting Plantula APS projects in Peru.
