Chianti region to host vintage car racing and L’Eroica cycling events

Tuscany will host two major heritage-focused sporting events in the Chianti region.

The 43rd edition of the Coppa del Chianti Classico is scheduled for September 18–20 in Castellina in Chianti. Serving as the eighth and penultimate stage of the Italian Championship for Historical Hillclimb Racing, the event will take place on the Chiantigiana 222 route. Organized by the Targa Racing Club, the competition features high-value vintage cars and notable drivers, including Denny Zardo, Salvatore Riolo, and Piero Lottini.

Additionally, the 29th edition of L’Eroica will be held in Gaiole in Chianti on October 3–4. This international cycling event draws participants from around the world. Franco Rossi, president of Eroica Italia, emphasized the event's deep connection to its local roots and its role as a community project, noting recent initiatives to involve local schools and institutions to ensure the event's future.
