Chianti Young Farmers School Reopens in Tuscany

The seventh edition of the free Chianti Young Farmers School will open in mid‑September 2026, offering a three‑year professional training programme for up to 15 students under 18. The course, run by the training agency Chiantiform and supported by the five Tuscan municipalities of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Greve in Chianti, Barberino Tavarnelle, Bagno a Ripoli and Impruneta, is financed with roughly €300,000 from the Regione Toscana’s PR FSE+ 2021‑2027 fund via the GiovaniSì programme.

The curriculum combines classroom instruction with field work, providing 1,085 hours of theoretical lessons and about 800 hours of school‑work alternation, including internships with local farms. Regional assessor Alberto Lenzi highlighted the model’s high job‑placement rate, close to 90 %, and its role in combating school dropout while renewing the agricultural workforce. Chiantiform president Elisa Corneli stressed the aim of inclusive, quality education for young people eager to work in the Chianti region’s vineyards and olive groves.
