Chiapas Attorney General investigates child injury and drug sales

Chiapas State Attorney General Jorge Luis Llaven Abarca has announced investigations into two separate matters. First, authorities are looking into an incident involving a six-year-old boy who sustained a cutting injury at a primary school in San Cristóbal de Las Casas. Investigators are pursuing two lines of inquiry: one involving potential aggression by other children, and another suggesting the injury may have occurred while playing on a flagpole. The child is receiving psychological support as officials review surveillance footage.

Additionally, Llaven Abarca reported on an ongoing operation in Suchiapa targeting retail drug sales, particularly near educational centers. This follows a September 25 operation conducted alongside the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) and the Secretariat of People's Security, which resulted in the detention of several individuals, including Humberto Javier “N”, known as “La Gretel”.
