Chiapas Governor calls for multi-sector cooperation to prevent violence

In Palenque, Chiapas Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar called for increased coordination between government authorities and social, economic, and productive sectors to address the root causes of violence. During a meeting of the Technical Committee for the Social Prevention of Violence and Crimes in the Selva Region, the governor emphasized that citizen participation is essential to establishing a culture of peace.

Ramírez specifically urged the livestock, hotel, restaurant, agricultural, and business sectors to join efforts to eradicate gender-based violence and crimes against children. State Attorney General Jorge Luis Llaven Abarca noted that family violence is one of the most reported crimes in the region, followed by drug trafficking and sexual aggression against minors.

Marian Vázquez González, Secretary of Women and Gender Equality, encouraged citizens to report all forms of violence and highlighted available resources, including LIBRE Centers, FOBAM brigades, and a 24-hour digital assistance line for psychological and legal support.
