Chiapas officials address security and domestic violence allegations

In Chiapas, state officials are addressing issues of public security and gender-based violence. Marcela Castillo Atristain, President of the State Congress, stated that while a zero crime rate is unrealistic, authorities must maintain constant vigilance and immediate response to criminal incidents.

Separately, Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar ordered the removal of Ulises Grajales Niño from his position as Director of Liaison at the Colegio de Bachilleres (Cobach). The action follows public allegations of domestic violence against his partner. The Governor emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward violence against women, noting that a substitute has been appointed while legal investigations proceed. The Chiapas Prosecutor's Office has deployed specialized units to investigate the allegations.
