Chiapas to host festival celebrating Chiapaneco Coffee Day
The state of Chiapas will celebrate Chiapaneco Coffee Day from November 20 to 24, 2026, through a series of events designed to promote local consumption and strengthen commercial value chains. The initiative, presented by Deputy Maritza Molina Molina, the Chiapas Coffee Institute (INCAFECH), and the State Youth Institute, aims to highlight the region's status as a leading producer of organic coffee in Mexico.
Scheduled activities include a coffee expo at Parque Bicentenario on November 20 and 21, featuring producers from 13 different coffee-growing regions. On November 22, the Café Run Chiapas 2026 will take place, consisting of a walk accompanied by traditional marimba music.
On November 24, the official Chiapaneco Coffee Day, the State Congress will present awards to outstanding producers and coffee shops. Later that afternoon, an exhibition at Parque de la Marimba will offer coffee tastings paired with traditional breads from regions such as Coita, San Cristóbal, Comitán, and Tuxtla Gutiérrez. The celebration honors the work of more than 180,000 producers in the sector.
