Chiara Cattaneo identified as inspiration for 883 song

Chiara Cattaneo has been identified as the real person who inspired the 1993 hit song ‘Sei un mito’ by the Italian group 883. For decades, various figures were rumored to be the muse, but Mauro Repetto recently confirmed Cattaneo's identity in his book, ‘Non ho ucciso l’Uomo Ragno’.

Originally from Pavia, Cattaneo was a teenage model who attended the same high school as band members Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto. Although she was a well-known figure in her local community at the time, she only discovered her connection to the famous track in 2025.

Cattaneo clarified in a recent interview that she never had a romantic relationship with Max Pezzali, contrary to depictions in television series about the band. Following a career in fashion, television, and banking, she currently resides in Milan, where she works as a dance and pilates instructor.
