Chiara Herzog uses epigenetics to study aging and cancer

Chiara Herzog, a bioinformatician leading a research group at King's College London and conducting research at the University of Cambridge, is utilizing epigenetics to study human aging and disease.

Her work focuses on variations in gene expression to develop protocols that measure biological aging. By deciphering these epigenetic patterns, researchers aim to increase healthy life expectancy and predict disease risks. Herzog has already collaborated with a team from the University of Innsbruck to develop a new screening test for endometrial cancer, providing an alternative to traditional ultrasound and painful biopsies.
