Chiara Poggi murder case: family rejects civil claim against Andrea Sempio

Marco Poggi, brother of Chiara Poggi, told the TV program “Quarto Grado” that the rumors about lights being left on in their grandmother’s house on the day of Chiara’s murder are false. He explained that the family had been staying at the grandmother’s home in Tromello for eight months after the house in Garlasco was seized, and that they were in the mountains in Trentino when they learned of the crime.

The Poggi family announced that they will not become a civil party against Andrea Sempio if a trial proceeds; they will remain only as the offended party. Sempio’s defence is focusing on a technical examination of shoe‑print evidence, arguing that the size of the imprint does not match Sempio’s foot. The defence also disputes the relevance of the “impronta 33” found on the wall of the staircase where Chiara’s body was discovered.
