Chiaramonti and Campomarino di Maruggio push water infrastructure upgrades
The municipal administration of Chiaramonti has reached an agreement with the water utility Abbanoa to design a new water main for the Bidighinzu area, valued at about €2 million. The project includes a replacement conduit, monitoring systems along the 12‑km line, and a 100,000‑litre increase in reservoir capacity, with design work expected to finish within six months before tendering.
In Campomarino di Maruggio, residents of Via Tramontana have lived for decades without public water and sewage services. After repeated complaints, the regional water authority (Autorità Idrica Pugliese) confirmed the street lies outside the current water network perimeter and urged the municipality to update the water‑service plan, giving a seven‑day deadline for a response.
