Chiayi agricultural products expand presence in Miyazaki, Japan

The 'Chiayi Fresh' agricultural carnival has launched for its second consecutive year at Miyazaki Airport in Japan. Running from August 25 to September 7, the event aims to strengthen the presence of Chiayi's agricultural products in the Japanese market.

This year's initiative features an expanded exhibition area and an extended two-week sales period. Beyond the airport, products will be available for long-term sale at three 'Michi-no-Eki' roadside stations in Miyazaki Prefecture: Miyakonojo, Kitago, and Kobayashi. The event includes a collaboration with Miyazaki artist Ah Chan, using character illustrations to promote Chiayi's specialties to Japanese consumers.

Currently, 16 types of processed agricultural goods from Chiayi are on sale. The Chiayi County Government intends to transition from short-term promotional events to establishing permanent distribution channels in Japan. Future expansion plans include targeting markets in Singapore and Malaysia to enhance the international competitiveness of the region's agricultural sector.
